Wigginsia gladiata, KZ 122, Route 31, Valentin Grande, Uruguay.

This is an uncommon species from Uruguay. The white spines create an attractive contrast to the dark green body. The flowers are large and yellow.

Wigginsia is a genus often placed within either Notocactus or Parodia, but recent studies suggest that Wigginsia should probably be kept as a good genus.

This is an easy species to grow and will do fine in a mineral soil or a more organic one.

Size is 4-6 cm Ø. Price is per plant.
