Turbinicarpus valdezianus, SB 1468, Ramos Arispe, Coahuila, Mexico.
This is a beautiful little Turbinicarpus, covered in dense, white feather-like spines. It's a slow growing species which remains small. The species flowers already in April-May and is often one of the first to flower in the greenhouse. The flowers are pink with a darker pink midstripe on the petals.
We recommend a mineral soil and a deep pot to accommodate the large tap root. It is not a particularly difficult species, but can be sensitive to overwatering.
These plants are 11 years old, 3-4 cm in diameter and flower willingly. They've been grown hard in mineral soil and are nice and small and compact, with a well developed tap root. Only a very limited amount of plants for sale. The plant you receive will be similar to the plants shown on the photos.
