This variety of the species Lobivia haematantha never becomes very large and grows fairly slowly. It flowers when still quite young, producing beautiful orange flowers in June-July. The white spines contrast nicely with the dark body of the plant.

It is not a difficult species to grow, but it develops a large tap root so we recommend a deep pot to accomodate it. Mineral soil is not necessary but can help prevent overwatering.

20 seeds per packet. The seeds germinate well under normal conditions.
