Gymnocalycium esperanzae TOM 09/436-1 (plant)

Gymnocalycium esperanzae TOM 09/436-1, Nuevo Esperanza, La Rioja, Argentina.

This is a relatively new Gymnocalycium species. It has an attractive dark brown epidermis, but can develop a striking grey color under intense sun light. 

It is fairly slow growing and develops a large tap root. A mineral soil and deep pot is recommended. The flowers are pinkish-white and appear in June.

The plants for sale are 10 years old and mature. They are about 5 cm in diameter. The plants depicted are representative of the plant you will receive.
