Escobaria minima, SB 423, Brewster County, Texas, USA.
This species certainly lives up to its name, being a real miniature plant. In habitat it hardly grows larger than the tip of a finger, though in cultivation it can reach greater size, and can grow to a clump of lots of tiny heads.
It has attractive yellow-white, short spines covering the body. Beautiful pink flowers appear in May-June, and it can reach maturity after only 2-3 years if given good growing conditions.
E. minima has a very limited distribution in Texas, and is threatened in habitat. It is not particularly difficult, but we recommend a mineral soil to reduce the risk of overwatering.
10 seeds per packet. The seeds germinate well under normal conditions.
