Echinocereus schmollii (20 seeds)

Echinocereus schmollii, Queretaro, Mexico.

This is a very interesting and special Echinocereus which used to belong to its own genus: Wilcoxia. The species is threatened in habitat and there are few populations left.

From a thick tap root, pencil-thick 10-15 cm long shoots grow. These stems are semi-firm and can be quite bendy and wavy in shape. They are covered in hair-like, grey-white soft spines.

The pink flowers, which appear in May, are stunning. Together with the curious growth form it is a species well worth growing.

We recommend a mineral soil. It is not a particularly difficult species, but can be sensitive to overwatering.

20 seeds per packet. The seeds germinate well under normal conditions.
