Denmoza rhodacantha VoS 18-2534 (plant)

Denmoza rhodacantha, VoS 18-2534, Reservoir Agua del Toro, Mendoza, 1434m, Argentina.

This is a great species from Argentina, with amazing spines. This species will reach the size of a football within a decent time if grown well in a windowsill or a greenhouse. In habitat it will eventually grow columnar with old age.

The flowers are brilliant red, and appear from the top after many years. Normally the spines are red, but the plants for sale here are of the yellow-spined form.

This is an easy species to grow, and will be happy with both mineral or more organic soils. 

Size is ca. 4 cm Ø. Price is per plant (the large flowering plant is only for illustration purposes).
